Soltec, a vertically integrated photovoltaic company, and the Totana City Council have announced the signing of a collaboration agreement under which they commit to developing a series of initiatives within the municipality of Totana to foster its sustainable and socioeconomic development.

Among the agreement’s key initiatives aimed at protecting and promoting biodiversity and the environment, there will be a landscape integration effort for the project and the improvement of open spaces with native species on land granted by the city council in the “El Saladar” industrial estate. Another important point of the agreement is contributing to local socioeconomic development and boosting the energy transition through the installation of two electric vehicle charging points on Avda. Rambla de la Santa.

Additionally, Soltec will prioritize hiring people living in the municipality and will work with local entities and organizations to support job placement for vulnerable groups.

The agreement will run for 4 years and is part of the actions promoted to foster the municipality’s sustainable development by the 5 MW Totana IV solar photovoltaic project. This project will be developed by Soltec under the principles of Ecovoltaica, a sustainable photovoltaic project development model aimed at minimizing environmental impact while maximizing the contribution to local development.

“We’re delighted to have signed this collaboration agreement with the Totana City Council, through which we promote local biodiversity and support local job placement. Our commitment to local communities in the regions where we operate is total, and we always aim to generate a positive impact by driving renewable energy and the energy transition toward a more sustainable model, and this agreement is further proof of that,” explained Silvia del Mar Rubio, Soltec’s development director in Spain.

The signing of this collaboration agreement reflects the firm commitment of Soltec and the Totana City Council to the municipality’s sustainable development and environmental preservation.
