Soltec keeps strengthening its international structure with the appointment of David Menéndez as General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa

  • Menéndez brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy and renewables sectors, built across international settings and different markets. Throughout his career he has led companies linked to the photovoltaic value chain.
  • From his new role, he will lead Soltec’s activity in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and help strengthen the company’s presence in a location key to its development. Among his priorities: driving new business opportunities, strengthening relationships with clients and strategic partners, and identifying paths for sustainable long-term growth.
  • His appointment reinforces Soltec’s strategy to consolidate its position in the EMEA regions, deepen its reach in strategic markets and advance its international expansion within the photovoltaic sector.

Murcia, September 2, 2026. Soltec, a company specialized in photovoltaic energy solutions, has appointed David Menéndez Martín as new general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role, Menéndez will lead the company’s activity in the region with the goal of driving new business opportunities, deepening its presence in priority markets and developing new growth avenues, drawing on Soltec’s international experience and technological capability.

His appointment furthers Soltec’s process of strengthening its international structure, based on a regional management model able to respond more directly to the particularities of each market. Across EMEA’s various locations, this approach will let the company keep leveraging its experience and technological capability in a diverse, evolving region where efficiency, performance and project optimization carry growing weight.

David Menéndez brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy and renewables sector, with a career combining technical knowledge of renewable energy and electrical systems with experience in strategy, project development, operations and investment. His multidisciplinary profile has let him approach the energy transition from different angles and work in markets with varying characteristics and needs.

Throughout his career he has held senior roles at international companies including GE Power, Woodward, Siemens Gamesa and Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV). At the latter he led global strategy and development of the energy storage business, contributing to the company’s international expansion.

Based in Madrid, Menéndez has also lived and worked in Germany and London, an experience that gave him an international view of the energy sector and direct knowledge of various European markets. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s in Renewable Energy in Electrical Systems, both from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Renewed international structure for a new stage of growth

David Menéndez’s appointment fits into Soltec’s new stage, focused on consolidating its position as a technology company specialized in solar trackers and strengthening its presence in the international markets with the greatest potential. Following the recent appointments of regional heads for North America and Latin America, Menéndez’s arrival at the head of EMEA continues the process of strengthening the company’s regional structure.

This model seeks to combine Soltec’s scale and international experience with deeper knowledge of local dynamics, allowing it to tailor its technological and commercial proposition to client needs in each market. The company thus reinforces a structure geared both to identifying new growth opportunities and to consolidating its position in countries where it already has a more developed track record.

EMEA will play a key role in this strategy. Soltec has extensive experience in the European photovoltaic market, active in countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece and Denmark, among others. Building on this track record, the company aims to keep strengthening its position in the region through technological solutions aimed at improving the efficiency, productivity and performance of photovoltaic installations.

The region also fits into a markedly international activity. In 2025, more than 60% of Soltec’s revenue came from international markets, including Europe, Latin America, the United States and Mexico. This overseas presence is one of the pillars of the company’s new stage and reflects the ability of a Spanish technology company to compete and develop solutions for photovoltaic projects across different markets.

Mariano Berges, CEO of Soltec, welcomed the appointment: “David’s arrival is one more step in strengthening our international structure. His knowledge of the sector, his experience across different markets and his ability to combine a technical and business vision will help us keep building our position in EMEA and respond ever better to our clients’ needs.”

David Menéndez, for his part, said: “I join Soltec very excited to contribute to this new stage of the company and put my experience at the service of a project with a solid technological track record and a clear international drive. The current moment, in energy transition, offers major opportunities to keep growing and consolidating Soltec’s position, and I take on this responsibility aiming to contribute to that growth.”
