Soltec Innovations named beneficiary of CDTI’s 2022 Science and Innovation Missions call with the Sunrise PV project

New generation of photovoltaic technologies for reducing energy cost through circularity strategies.

Sunrise PV project proposes solutions and innovations that address this challenge and those set out in the Mission “Strengthening technological capabilities for safe and sustainable energy autonomy (fusion, hydrogen and renewables)”, across the different stages of the value chain (photovoltaic module, tracker or support structure, power converter, photovoltaic inverter, storage, plant operation and maintenance), focusing research on the following areas:

  • New materials and manufacturing processes for photovoltaic modules and other components, for higher conversion efficiency and lower manufacturing costs
  • New operation and maintenance processes for longer-lasting, more efficient and more reliable use of photovoltaic systems
  • New processes for recovering and reusing critical materials and components in the photovoltaic solar value chain to increase their value and improve the technology’s environmental impact
  • Optimize renewable photovoltaic energy production with a very significant reduction in the technology’s energy and economic cost (LCOE improvement), while significantly advancing the efficiency, flexibility and manageability of PV plants, within a framework of environmental, economic and social sustainability.
