Soltec Wins MIREC’s Innovative Technology Award 2018

The awarded solution TeamTrack avoids inter-row shading in the early and late-day hours due to uneven terrain influences

Soltec has been awarded with one of the nine MIREC Awards that recognize people and companies driving and developing renewable industry. Soltec was competing with its TeamTrack solution.

The TeamTrack 3D algorithm uses NREL sun-position data versus programmed constants of local irregularities to execute energy optimized backtracking position control, avoiding inter-row shading and achieving yield-gain. Tracker control is simply configured with irregularity parameters that do not change with time or external influences in normal operation.

“TeamTrack stands out from existing solutions that add equipment and feedback response mechanisms, that add cost and vulnerability. It enables cost reduction in earth-grading on contours and steps,” says José Alfonso Teruel, Soltec’s R&D Manager. “Besides, this solution requires zero maintenance and provides for hardware independent software update. TeamTrack takes its place in SF7 synergies with site-dependent yield-gain of up to 6% that combines with other standard yield-gain elements on SF7”.

“R&D has always been Soltec’s cornerstone. We are proud and thankful for this recognition, it encourages us to keep developing the most innovative solar tracker,” declared Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec.
