Soltec attains 1 GW of annual sales with new projects in key solar markets of the Americas
Soltec, a leading manufacturer of highly innovative single-axis trackers, will supply 150 MW’s of its SF Utility Single-Axis Tracker in the United States. For this project Soltec has successfully designed and delivered product innovations adapting to extreme local climate conditions. With this project and others in the Americas, Soltec has attained annual sales of 1 GW and is on track to meet future growth goals.
The US project presented the challenges of high snow-load, sub-zero temperatures and local flooding risks. Soltec innovation responded with a special pile design, an extended electronic configuration range reaching down to -40° F, and tracker control mechanisms with flood-sensors and snow-load removal operations.
“To meet these extreme climate challenges our R&D team has redesigned the electronics adjusting to local conditions, and developed exclusive piles to maintain tracker equipment stability in heavy snow and deeply frozen earth. With these enhanced features SF utility is configured to deliver maximum potential even in the rough winters of North America,” said José Alfonso Teruel, R&D Manager at Soltec.
