SFOne trackers generating 63 MW to be supplied and installed in Soltec’s first project in Portugal

SFOne trackers generating 63 MW to be supplied and installed in Soltec’s first project in Portugal

The project will be equipped with 1,083 SFOne trackers by Soltec. The plant will avoid the emission of 120,904 metric tons of CO2 to the atmosphere. The plant will generate enough electricity to power over 17,000 households

Soltec, integrated company offering solutions for photovoltaic plants, will supply and install its single-shaft SFOne tracker model to a 63.5-MW project in Setubal, Portugal. The plant will cover a surface area of 95 hectares approximately.

This is the first project developed by the Spanish company in Portugal and also the first European plant to be equipped with the 1-in-portrait SFOne tracker which, due to its shorter height, contributes to a reduced visual impact and better integration with the surroundings. This project will be equipped with 1,083 solar trackers and more than 11,000 photovoltaic modules.

The SFOne tracker, latest model launched by Soltec, was an upgrade and adaption of the company’s first 1P tracker, launched back in 2009. The SFOne is a tracker especially designed for longer modules (72 & 78 cells) and self-powered thanks to a dedicated panel, thus reducing operational costs.

“This new solar plant in Portugal is great news for us, as it is both our first project in the country and the first one in Europe to be equipped with our SFOne model. We know that Portugal is one of the European countries more committed to the transition towards cleaner forms of energy, which is why we are sure this is just the first of many more projects for Soltec in our neighbor country”, said Raúl Morales, Soltec’s CEO.

The construction of this solar plant equipped with Soltec’s SFOne trackers will avoid the emission of 120,904 metric tons of CO2 to the atmosphere. Furthermore, this project will generate enough power to supply over 17,000 households.
