TÜV RHEINLAND VERIFIES THAT SOLTEC'S TEAMTRACK® IS ABLE TO INCREASE SOLAR PLANT GAIN BY 6.2%
The annual yield of a photovoltaic plant increases between 3.6% and 7.5% by applying the TeamTrack® algorithm developed by Soltec.
Soltec studies 9 locations with different characteristics for the TeamTrack® profit study in its WhitePaper
According to this study, endorsed by the German certifier TÜV Rehinland, the TeamTrack® from Soltec, a leading manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar trackers belonging to the Soltec Power Holdings group of companies, is capable of increasing the gain of a photovoltaic solar plant by up to 6.2% on regular terrain in Mediterranean latitudes.
Soltec's TeamTrack® is an algorithm used in the company's solar trackers that prevents inter-row shading during off-peak hours due to uneven terrain influences. This shows gain improvements of 0.23% compared to mid-sensor backtracking and a further 0.62% in the case of double row trackers. In addition, TeamTrack® provides 1.13% more gain compared to the united trackers.
This new whitepaper compiles the results of a comprehensive study conducted by TÜV Rehinland verifying the performance of Soltec's TeamTrack® backtracking algorithm in nine different locations. Each of these locations has different types of terrain features, heights, unevenness and latitudes.
The study shows that the annual yield increases in ranges between 3.6% and 7.5% compared to standard backtracking by applying the Soltec TeamTrack® algorithm. The optimised energy yield compared to standard backtracking ranges between 1.2% and 3.5% among the locations that have been analysed.
