TÜV Rheinland verifies that Soltec’s Teamtrack® can increase the gain of a solar PV plant by 6.2%

• The annual yield of a photovoltaic plant increases between 3.6% and 7.5% with the TeamTrack® algorithm powered by Soltec

Soltec, leading firm in the manufacture and supply of single-axis solar trackers and part of Soltec Power Holdings, launches its first technical document about the gain that its Backtracking algorithm, TeamTrack®, can generate in a photovoltaic plant. According to this study, Soltec’s TeamTrack® is capable of increasing the gain of a photovoltaic solar plant by up to 6.2% on regular Mediterranean latitude terrains.
Likewise, Soltec’s TeamTrack® presents gain improvements of 0.23% compared to Backtracking with middle sensor and 0.62% more against dual-row trackers. Likewise, TeamTrack® allows to obtain 1.13% more profit compared to linked-row trackers.

This Whitepaper presents the results of a comprehensive study carried out by TÜV Rheinland verifying Soltec’s TeamTrack® Backtracking algorithm behavior over 9 sites with different terrain and latitude surveys. Each location has different types of terrain characteristics, heights, and latitudes.

This study on TeamTrack® shows that the yearly energy yield increase in ranges between 3.6% and 7.5% compared to standard Tracking Energy yield. Optimization with respect to Standard Backtracking oscillates over the tested sites between 1.2% and 3.5%.
