TotalEnergies and Powertis present La Asomada solar power plant
TotalEnergies, a multi-energy company, and Soltec Power Holdings, through its project development division: Powertis, today presented to local and regional authorities the 4.5 MW "La Asomada" solar photovoltaic plant located in Cartagena, Murcia. The visit to the installation was attended by Horacio Sánchez, Director General of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity, Amador Ruiz, Head of the Energy Service, Cristina Mora, Councillor for the Environment, as well as the Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, accompanied by Yago Mancebo, Managing Director for Europe of TotalEnergies Renewables International, as representatives of the Government of the Region of Murcia. On behalf of Soltec Power Holdings, Raúl Morales, CEO of the company, and Pablo Otín, General Manager of Powertis, the group's photovoltaic project development division, attended the event. The new La Asomada solar park will supply energy to around 2,200 homes, avoiding the emission of around 70,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere during the life of the park. This project is another step towards TotalEnergies' goal of 5 GW of solar power for Spain by 2026, and is also in line with Soltec's strategy of promoting solar photovoltaic energy as a leading renewable energy in the energy transition. It also does so with respect for the environment: the clearing of the plant is done with a flock of 200 sheep, which benefits both the ecological impact of the installation and the agricultural and livestock farming environment. The park has an area of 8.6 hectares, has a nominal power of 4.2 MW, the peak power is 4,500 kWp and will produce 8,800 MWh/year of clean energy for the local residents, with a saving in atmospheric emissions of approximately 2,330 tonnes of CO2 per year.

The photovoltaic plant, promoted by both companies, and which is already evacuating energy, is part of the eight solar projects being developed by TotalEnergies and Soltec in Murcia to boost the region's energy transition and provide its inhabitants with clean energy at a more economical price. Specifically, these projects, promoted by TotalEnergies and Soltec, have a total nominal capacity of almost 363 MWp, which will produce more than 710,000 MWh/year of clean energy in the region, avoiding the emission of around 190,000 tonnes per year into the atmosphere. They also represent an investment of more than 270 million euros and will generate 600 jobs during the construction phase and 34 for maintenance, which demonstrates the commitment of both companies to the Region of Murcia and their commitment to the residents of these areas.TotalEnergies' investment in Murcia in the field of clean energy generation is now added to the presence it already has in this autonomous community in terms of marketing to homes and businesses. More than 128,000 people already rely on TotalEnergies for their electricity, gas and maintenance services. The multi-energy company has a sales and customer service office in the region, located on Calle Ronda de Levante in Murcia, where it also provides information about its self-consumption and electric mobility products. TotalEnergies is also a sponsor of the TotalEnergies Murcia Marathon.
