Soltec supplies 265 MW plant in Ohio, USA
The project will have more than 10,000 Soltec SF7 trackers, which will generate an approximate peak power of 413.3 MWh.
Soltec, a leading manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar trackers and part of the Soltec Power Holdings group of companies, is supplying its SF7 tracker for a 265 MW project.DC. This project is being developed by Innergex Renewable Inc. in the state of Ohio, USA. PCL, a Canadian company with headquarters in Toronto, is developing the engineering, supply and construction of the plant, which will be ready to be connected and start operation by the end of 2020. It is the largest solar plant that Soltec has supplied in the North American country to date.
The plant, which occupies an area of 850 hectares, will have more than 10,000 Soltec SF7 trackers, which will generate an approximate peak power of 413.3 MWh. These solar trackers are able to adapt to all types of climates and terrains thanks to their ease of assembly and each of the designs made by the Murcian company.
"Our SF7 tracker, with its characteristic 2P (2 vertical) configuration, is perfect for this project. Terrain constraints create challenges that only a tracker with a design like Soltec's can truly optimise. We are very pleased that our customers recognise and take advantage of the production benefits our tracker offers while significantly reducing the foundation count on these plots, which have adverse soil conditions. "Colin Caufield, Vice President of US Sales, says.
To date, Soltec has close to 1 GW of projects delivered or in the pipeline in the US, of which 600 MW were closed during the past year. In addition, several of these projects will feature Soltec's SF7 Bifacial tracker, which can generate up to 15.7% more power than single-facial trackers under high albedo conditions (55.6%). These trackers, having a 2P configuration, also achieve 2.1% more energy than 1P trackers.
Soltec has nearly 2.5 GW of projects delivered or underway across North America. This is in addition to a total of 10 GW worldwide, making it the third largest solar tracker company in the world.
