The photovoltaic plant will occupy 439 hectares and generate more than 700 local jobs.

Soltec, a leading manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar trackers, is supplying and installing its SF7 Bifacial tracker in a 220 MW project that the Enel Green Power group is building in Tlaxcala, Mexico.

The plant covers an area of 439 hectares. The facility includes 6,533 Soltec SF7 Bifacial trackers and 548,772 bifacial modules and will be capable of generating around 600 GWh at full capacity.

"With this project, we continue to strengthen our position in the Mexican PV market, where we have more than 1.3 GW installed. In addition, as this is a plant with bifacial modules, we will produce more energy, optimising space and reducing installation time", says Sergio Prado, Head of Sales in Mexico.

Soltec will be responsible for creating 200 jobs during the installation and supply phase. Soltec and Enel Green Power are cooperating to make agreements with trade unions and local government to promote local employment.

The company has also participated in an initiative to donate wood to local communities near the project. During installation, an average of three tonnes of wood is generated daily and will be delivered according to the needs of each village.

SF7 BIFACIAL

The SF7 Bifacial tracker produces energy on both its front and rear sides by capturing sunlight reflected from the ground. According to data collected at BiTEC, bifacial modules installed on the SF7 Bifacial solar tracker can achieve up to 17% more bifacial gain in high albedo conditions (60%), and 11% in medium albedo conditions (30%). The use of this tracker in this solar plant will help to significantly increase production and thus reduce the footprint and investment for the final project report.

The standard features of SF7 provide bifacial compatibility thanks to the higher mounting height, shadow-free rear and wider aisles between the tracker rows.
