Soltec consolidates its position in the United States with a 28 MW project in South Carolina
Soltec begins supplying solar trackers to leading project developer Cypress Creek Renewables
Soltec, a leading manufacturer and supplier of photovoltaic tracking equipment and related services, is supplying 28 MW of its SF Utility solar tracker to a solar plant in Estill Township, South Carolina.
The project is located in a US region with a subtropical climate, where cyclones and tornadoes are common. To meet the local climatic conditions, Soltec's R&D team has optimised the control electronics and developed the appropriate foundation pillars that maintain the stability of the trackers in strong wind gusts.
"With these improved features, our trackers are ready to reach optimal production levels even during the hurricane season, from June to November. Soltec has proven on several occasions to be the ideal solar tracking solution for challenging projects such as this one," says José Alfonso Teruel, head of R&D at Soltec. "Our high-speed motor moves the PV panels from the maximum 60-degree tilt to a completely horizontal position in less than three minutes for better wind resistance.
"Soltec has signed a framework supply contract with Cypress Creek Renewables, and we are committed to helping them achieve project success and become a repeat customer," says Raul Morales, CEO of Soltec. "Soltec's proven ability to meet project criteria for schedule, cost and quality is our best guarantee.
