Soltec signs 142 MW contract with Endesa for a project in Extremadura
Soltec Industrial confirms the good evolution of the business and continues to increase its operational backlog with this new project for the supply of solar trackers and construction services.
The project is expected to be fully completed in 2021 and will deliver SF7 bifacial trackers, the most advanced 2-in-vertical configuration solar tracker on the market.
The project is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs in the region, and will continue to promote clean energy by avoiding 284,000 tons of CO2.
Soltec announces the signing of a new supply and construction services contract with Endesa for a photovoltaic plant in Extremadura (Spain), with a capacity of 142 MW. The plant will be located in Almendralejo and Mérida.
For this project, Soltec will supply Endesa with its most advanced technology in bifacial trackers: the SF7, which is characterised by being the most advanced solar tracker in a 2-in-vertical configuration on the market.
With this agreement, Soltec continues to strengthen its backlog, which closed the previous year at record levels and has continued to grow at the start of 2021. In addition, the agreement reached with Endesa involves a project whose execution is scheduled for this year. According to last year's year-end figures, Soltec Industrial had a backlog of 190 million euros and a pipeline valued at 2,665 million euros at 31 December 2020.
According to Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec:
"This contract strengthens the good relationship we have always had with Endesa, which we consider a key partner. Moreover, the fact that this project is in Spain is important for Soltec, as it is a market we are committed to and consider strategic for our future growth, and we are very pleased to continue contributing to the advancement of clean energy in our country.
The project in Extremadura will contribute to the development of the surrounding local communities through a specific employment and training programme, as well as through our social action programme. For us at Soltec, the economic and social development of local communities is a priority in the framework of the energy transition".
