The results obtained at BiTEC, Soltec's bifacial tracking evaluation centre, were published on Friday 29 March.

Soltec, a leading manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar trackers, has prepared a technical report presenting the results obtained from September to November 2018 at Soltec's bifacial evaluation centre in Livermore, California.

BiTEC studied the bifacial gain of PV modules installed on the two most common configurations in the current solar tracker market: 1-horizontal (1P) and 2-horizontal (2P). Initial results show that solar panels mounted on the SF7 Bifacial tracker in the 2P configuration show a gain that is 2.4% higher than that of the same modules in the 1P configuration.
The increased bifacial gain is applied to a hypothetical 65 MWp solar project and results in a net project value improvement of USD 1 million.
Black & Veatch Management Consulting LLC reviewed the technical data, measurement techniques and methodology used by Soltec and believes that the methodology is consistent with accepted industry practice. *
