TotalEnergies and Soltec begin the construction of two new solar parks in the Region of Murcia

Murcia, July 22nd, 2025 – TotalEnergies, a global integrated energy company, and Soltec, a firm specialized in solar power solutions, presented today in Murcia the Luminora Solar Dos and Luminora Solar Tres projects at a reception to highlight the beginning of the construction tasks at these facilities. Located in the municipalities of Murcia, San Javier, and San Pedro del Pinatar, Luminora Solar Dos has a total installed capacity of 220 MW. Luminora Solar Tres is located in the municipalities of Murcia and Torre Pacheco and will have 95 MW. The completion of the works is scheduled for October 2026.

With more than 494,000 bifacial solar panels and solar tracking technology, the two plants will produce 630 GWh of renewable electricity per year, equivalent to the consumption of 180,000 Spanish households. This energy represents a saving of 314,000 tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. Both parks cover 460 hectares and involve an investment of 212 million euros. They also boost job creation in the area, prioritizing the hiring of local employees and suppliers.

During the processing, development, construction, and operation phases, it is estimated that 800 direct and indirect jobs will be generated.

In total, the joint portfolio of TotalEnergies with Soltec amounts to fourteen projects. Four are already in operation (La Asomada, Los Valientes I and II, and La Isla) and six are under construction (Romeral I and II, as well as the two installations presented today, plus Fuente Álamo I and II, which will also begin construction this month). This portfolio of projects has a total capacity of 439 MW, of which 23 MW are already in operation, injecting energy into the grid. Another 356 MW are under construction. An additional 60 MW are still under development.

Jordi Torres, General Manager of TotalEnergies Renewables in Spain, stated that “the new projects demonstrate TotalEnergies’ commitment to the energy transition in Spain, a priority country for the Company. Additionally, this announcement and the recent commissioning of our 14 MW park in Los Valientes position us as a key player in the energy transition of the Region of Murcia. They also contribute to TotalEnergies’ global goal of reaching 100 GW installed by 2030”.

Mariano Berges, CEO of Soltec, stated: “At Soltec, we work to strengthen our bond with Spain and, particularly, with the Region of Murcia, our place of origin. These projects are a testament to it, and are also a milestone for our company, since they are the last in which we will be the EPC providers. From now on, Soltec is focused in solar trackers supply, a field in which we intend to remain a global leader.”

Presence of TotalEnergies and Soltec in the Región de Murcia

TotalEnergies promotes with Soltec a solar photovoltaic portfolio exceeding 400 MW in various stages of development, construction, and operation, out of the 3 GW renewable projects with all permits obtained, in which the multi-energy company is a promoter throughout Spain. These projects are part of the integrated electricity portfolio that TotalEnergies is developing in the country, where it complements its renewable assets with the flexible generation from its two combined cycle gas plants in Navarra. In the Region of Murcia, TotalEnergies has around 75,000 electricity, gas, and service contracts, as well as a customer service office on Ronda de Levante Street in the Murcian capital and sponsors the TotalEnergies Murcia Costa Cálida Marathon.
