  • At the end of the first quarter of the 2021 financial year, the company has a pipeline of projects under development of 150 MW in Denmark, which will contribute to boosting the development of agricultural activity at its plants through partnerships with local companies.
  • Denmark is one of the countries with the greatest potential in Europe for the development of the photovoltaic sector, with a target of increasing its solar power capacity to 6 GW by 2030.

Powertis, a Soltec Power Holdings company dedicated to the development and investment of large-scale solar PV projects, announces its entry into the Danish market as part of its expansion plans.

The company plans to develop a portfolio of strategically located PV projects in different regions of Denmark with an installed capacity of more than 150 MW. The development of these projects will contribute to the development of agricultural activity at the plants through partnerships with local companies.

Powertis is firmly committed to Denmark, a market that openly promotes the development of photovoltaics. This is evidenced by the good expectations within the framework of the Danish Energy Agency Planwhich sets a target of +6 GW of installed PV capacity by 2030 and a total of 12 GW for all other technologies.

Pablo Otín, CEO of Powertis, explained that,

"Denmark presents a great opportunity for the company in terms of growth and international development, being one of the most promising markets in Europe and a pioneer in the introduction of the Agrovoltaic format in solar plants. We are confident that Powertis will be one of the leading companies in the transition to a zero-emission economy while preserving the culture of the country.".

Commitment to Agrovoltaics Agrovoltaic plants make it possible to combine the production of solar energy with the continuity of agricultural and livestock farming activity on land occupied by panels, thanks to the use of single-axis trackers. The installation of panels on solar trackers makes it possible to "free" the soil from the presence of bulky and traditional panels "on the ground", thus giving back to the largely free land the possibility of continuing to be used for agricultural purposes. It should be noted that this coexistence means that this type of solar plant increases its production by 20-30% more than a traditional fixed-mount plant.

In this line, Powertis expects to establish and increase its presence in the Danish market through the progressive development of photovoltaic projects in different regions, complementing the production of solar energy with the cultivation of land and local commitments. In this way, Powertis continues to solidly drive its international expansion strategy, with the aim of increasing its current pipeline of projects globally, which at the end of the first quarter of 2021 already exceeded 6 GW between Spain, Italy and Brazil.
