Promoting research and the implementation of projects based on renewable energies, as well as guiding the energy transition and establishing the Green Hydrogen Valley in the Region are the main objectives of this new partnership. Andamur, Enagás, Primafrio and Soltec, leading firms in the transport, logistics and energy sectors, are the founders and current members of the association.
AHMUR, the first green hydrogen association in the Region of Murcia, has held its first assembly. Recently constituted, the organisation has been created with the aim of leading the energy transition in the region of Murcia and serve as a reference and support in future projects around the disruptive technology and applications that green hydrogen will offer in any of the industrial sectors. With a sustainable development model towards a decarbonised economy thanks to renewable energies and its derivative, green hydrogen.

The organisation has been founded by leading companies in their sector in the Region of Murcia, such as Andamur, specialists in offering a comprehensive service to hauliers on their routes throughout Europe, with an extensive network of service stations in 9 countries, fuel cards, tolls and recovery and taxes; Enagás, the main natural gas transporter and the Technical Manager of the Gas System in Spain; Grupo Primafrío, Europe's leading company in land refrigerated transport of fruit, vegetables and pharmaceuticals; and Soltec, a leading company specialising in integrated photovoltaic solar energy solutions focused on solar tracking systems with a strong commitment to innovation. It also has the technical management of Cetenma, the Energy and Environment Technology Centre.

AHMUR has been created to promote research and scientific study for the implementation of projects based on renewable energies and green hydrogen. In addition, its functions will focus on serving as an instrument to inform and raise public awareness to generate a collective awareness that promotes the use of clean energy and green hydrogen as a viable alternative to reduce emissions and curb the negative consequences of the climate change we are facing.

On the other hand, this association will try to promote projects based on clean energy and green hydrogen, supporting public-private partnerships for the dissemination and implementation of projects based on these technologies. In this sense, the first draft for the first hydrogen plant in Murcia has already been completed and successfully presented on 19 December.

The main topics discussed at the constituent Assembly included the presentation and approval of the 2021 activity plan; the appointment of the association's main officers; the approval of the 2021 budget; the review of AHMUR to other national and European green hydrogen and green hydrogen valley associations; and the review and, if necessary, submission to MITECO (Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge) of the first green hydrogen projects in the Region of Murcia.
