Soltec Unveils the SF7 Tracker that Achieves Higher Yield and Lower Cost

Soltec’s next generation single-axis tracker enables up to five percent greater yield than other trackers for more profitable solar

SF7 will be launched at Intersolar Munich 2017

Soltec is launching its next generation solar tracker at Intersolar Europe in Munich May 31st to June 2nd (Booth A4.140). The tracker will be exhibited as well at Solar Power International in September.

By eliminating array-gaps on the tracker at all pile mounting locations, SF7 achieves complete tracker module fill that enables greater yield. By reducing parts count and installation labor, SF7 also achieves a lower installed first-cost. The net result is a greater benefit/cost ratio that defines Soltec’s principal innovation criteria to increase tracker cost-effectiveness.

“With SF7, our customers advantage is increased when they must compete in low and falling PPA bid circumstances,” said Raúl Morales, CEO of Soltec. “Our customers are also concerned about product availability on a short landing strip, Soltec responds with 2.5 GW annual capacity, and a global logistics system synchronized with customer project schedules.”

Other key features of SF7 that customers value highly include: fewest piles-per-MW, greatest installation tolerances on steep-slope and irregular land, and the greater site-fill options of a short tracker that mounts twice the modules per independent-row tracker length.

“SF7 incorporates DC Harness and String Runner installation innovations that combine to better manage PV array wiring with less cabling material and less installation labor,” said José María Lozano, Soltec’s Global Engineering Director. “SF7 is self-powered, and provides tracker-level Near Field Communications; together reducing costs of material, installation, operation, and maintenance.”
