SF Utility Single-Axis Solar Equipment Supplies Cost-Effective Solar to Jordanian Food Industry Conglomerate
Soltec will supply and install its equipment for a 16.5 MW PV plant in Jordan. This project represents the company’s debut in the Middle East.
Soltec and EPC partner Sol9 will begin construction in June and expect the plant to be operating by the end of 2017. The installation will feature 637 units of the SF Utility tracker over 100 acres (40.5 ha) in Al Zumeilah, 30 miles (50 km) south of Jordan’s capital, Amman.
“This is a strategic milestone toward building our presence in the Middle East,” said Soltec CEO Raúl Morales. “We are honored to join forces with Sol9 to build the most reliable solar tracking plant possible.” Because it is designed and proven for extreme desert conditions, the SF Utility is an ideal tracking solution for the region’s harsh environment. SF Utility is self-powered and provides the lowest cost of operational power with an autonomous power supply, requiring no additional PV module or grid-powered connection.
“Partnering with Soltec is a proven recipe for success,” said Francisco Ayala, Sol9 CEO. “Since its product is factory serviced with dedicated teams supporting plant design and logistics, we can count on meeting tight schedules. With numerous ongoing projects, we know we can deliver customers a high-quality installation at a very competitive price.”
